Was excited to come here for the first time as I read they have homemade ice cream. Well that just isn't the case. They bring their ice cream in from a high quality and very yummy place. I just think if you say it is homemade then it should be homemade. Also the lady who works there got very upset with me because I asked where the ice cream was made. She said it is too much work for them to make their own. I left without ordering as I wanted to try their creations not someone else's. They have good ice cream and it is a cute place. Hopefully more people start going here to support their business just don't expect homemade ice cream although very delicious.

Good ice cream. The lady behind the counter was very nice to us. Ice cream is local and very tasty. Will come back.

Lovely little older lady owns this place and makes all her ice cream. So yummy, you gotta try it! And 60 favors!

This place sells Working Cow ice cream, which is why you should get your ice cream here rather than at the place right nearby in the ice cream cup building. Plus you can sit inside in a booth. But be aware that the old lady behind the counter is a grouch. Apparently she's the owner, but she totally lacks the personality to sell people ice cream. My wife asked for 3 tastes but the old woman said two's the limit. And when we got our ice cream, the scoops were adequate but not the overscoops that you get everywhere else. My advice is to go a little further down Gulf Blvd & get your ice cream at Larry's.

Ice cream is good, but not the best.... They are cash only, beware! Signage could be better for that fact in the age of plastic and phones!

The woman who served us (I'm guessing the owner) was incredibly rude. Made a snyde remark about how my (shy) 7 y/o didn't say 'hi' upon entering.... Never an apology after a chair collapsed sending my 4 y/o crashing to the floor.... An eye roll and a heavy sigh when I asked for a cup and spoon.... And after asking for more napkins, she asks why I wouldn't have my own wipes and napkins "being that I'm a Mother and everything". REALLY??? After paying $3.75 each for the tiniest, single scoops ever, ya'd think napkins would be readily avaiable and WITH a smile. We will never return.

The ice cream was by far the smoothest. The shop was fun to visit and the lady behind the counter was friendly. This is the small business that make me happiest here in St Pete Beach.

It's decent ice cream. Crabby lady scooped mine. Friendly guy scooped my family's. Hers were a lot smaller for the same thing. Hahhaa! Pricey. Since we found Larry's, we won't come back here.

Inferior overpriced product, served up by rude, malcontents I'm not surprised to read that its going out of business. With both Uncle Andy's, and especially Larry's putting out far superior products, there's just no room for this inferior spot. There's just nothing special at all, and the general grumpy attitude of the owner seems to permeate throughout the establishment. I'm not big on soft serve, but I'd sooner go over to he nearby Twistee Treat than eat this. In fact, I'd rather head over to the frozen isle at Publix. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. If the rumors are true, this place won't be an option for too much longer.

I've gone here about 10 times over the last 10 years. I use to go much more when a gf lived there. They have great chocolate and peanut butter ice cream and 60 flavors. The service is just ok. They have a for sale sign, so you can tell the owner is just over it which is totally understandable. If you want some solid ice cream go for it, but its pricey. They don't make their own, but the ice cream they buy is good, just a big overpriced.

Do not go here. Overpriced ice cream served by an angry, rude old woman. It cost me $15 for 2 double scoops of ice cream they don't even make. Cash only and the service is horrible.

Locally owned with atmosphere to match. REAL ice cream (not soft-serve). A little pricey ($16 for four single-dips on a cone). The ice cream was good though. The older lady behind the counter was friendly.

Nice, family place. Good location and appears clean inside. Plenty of flavors and I believe that the ice cream is home made

This is an adorable little Mom & Pop store (going out of business) we found on our way back from a music festival. We had a very friendly experience. The lady helping us out was very patient, funny and let us try as many flavors as we liked. The had a lot of flavors and ice-cream itself was good. I wish this plays stays in business longer!

Decent ice cream store with a generous array of flavors. Nice location, moms and pops shop. My boyfriend and I have been there twice and both times was uneventful. The shop is run by a elderly husband and wife and although the encounter with the husband was pleasant the wife gave some vibes of not wanting to serve black people in her store. The very first time we went my boyfriend was interested in trying a few flavors since he was getting a milkshake and it was our first time there. The husband gladly handed him the flavors he requested. While making his decision another (white) customers came in also walking around to see what flavor he wanted. The wife came from the cashier and pretended she didn't see me waiting to get helped and proceeded to ask her husband who else needed assistance. Her husband gave her a baffled look and said I think this young lady needs help. Now normally I shrug behavior like this and give people the benefit of a doubt. I mean I've worked in customer service and know what it's like to have a bad day. We gave this parlor another try about 1 month later and it was just the wife this time. We walked in and the shop was completely empty so we gave them a minute or two and still no one came out. I proceeded to ring their bell. The wife came out putting on gloves and looked at us without a hello or acknowledgement. She took our orders and although she made a small attempt at making small talk it was cold and motivated by the silent awkwardness. Since the shop was empty we took the opportunity to sit down and enjoy our ice cream. A gentleman came in shortly after and was greeted immediately. Both these occasions have left me with a bad taste so i've decided not to return. Overall ice cream was decent and the atmosphere was prefect for a date night.

I love really good ice cream, and this was some of the best that I've had in a while. It is freshly made and homemade. There is supposed to be 60 different flavors, but I think one of the display cases was empty so there may have been less when I was there today. However, there is more than enough variety to go around. I think I had a scoop of Captain Butterscotch and Cinnamon Caramel. Considering it was a little pricy I would have preferred if they accepted plastic.

I hate to not give a Mom n Pop place a good review but I just can't ignore the bad experience we had at this location. I don't know if it is because the place is for sale or if it wasn't the high season but the ice cream just missed the mark, almost tasted stale. But the kicker was the service, an older lady who resented our request to sample a few of their specialty flavors before ordering and then when I chose a two scoop cup with two different flavors, she questioned if I really thought those to flavors would be good together. I am sorry but customer service was so poor and then the quality of the ice cream just sub standard compared to the other local mom n pop ice cream shops we had tried in the area during our vacation that I have to say this ice cream parlor was definitely missing their sweet factor both on food and service.

So they say you can't go back and I guess it's true. Lived here on st pete beach 12 years ago and scoops was a family favorite. My kiddos loved the ice cream, the owners, and the little kid tables that were just their size. They even had their picture taken and put on the wall. That was then. Now my kiddos are teenagers so I thought it would be so fun to return to scoops while vacationing on the beach. The place was empty on a Saturday evening, a for sale sign was posted, and the owner no longer remembered us nor seemed to care. We got three small scoops, with two being in waffle cones and the bill was $18. The ice cream tasted old. The one bright spot...our picture was still on the wall.

Get the birthday cake ice cream. We love it. The kids love the superman ice cream. We tried a tone of places but this is the place to go to get a sweet treat.

Got soft serve cones; the ice cream went sour from being left in too long. Looking at the case, the ice cream was frosted over as well. Clearly they don't sell much as it's not fresh at all. There is a sign saying they are for sale inside. I think they owers have already sold it in their minds.

Place was empty on a busy Saturday night of summer which should have been my first clue. Ice cream looked frosted over and not very fresh. Had 5 bucks which I figured would be enough for an ice cream cone but the total was over 6 bucks and they didn't take credit cards! What retail business in a tourist location doesn't take credit cards!? So I went to the car and got more money and by the time I came back in my ice cream was not in sight and the lady who had helped me seemed too busy to help me now. I went next door to the "Tasty Treat" and got better service, value, and a delicious dessert.

Delicious, creamy ice cream, but the gelato is my favorite. Friendly service. Only thing to improve upon is to move the tables away from the gelato case. It's too crowded and difficult to squeeze in to select your flavor if people are at the tables.

Great independent ice cream shop run by the nicest group of folks. Very warm and friendly place. The place is decorated with pictures of customers and they actually keep scrapbooks of past photos. This place is definitely a tradition when my family visits. Not many places like this left.

Awesome mom and pop ice cream joint that has over 60 flavors. Great service, awesome selection, and most importantly, yummy ice cream.

Well my 14 year old daughter and i were driving back to our hotel I ask if she would like some ice cream. She said yes but needed to go to the bathroom. We passed a tasty freeze stand then i saw a sign that said 60 flavors. I said I would rather real ice cream insteat of soft serve, and they probable have a bathroom u can use. I went around the block and into their parking lot. When we enterered I asked the gentleman( i thought was a gentleman) if he had a bathroom we could use. He told me it was for customers only. I told him we were going to order some ice cream. He told me we had to pay first then we could use the bathroom. He accused me of being sent there by tasty freeze to use his bathroom. I gave him $5.00 my daughter got to use the bathroom. we then each got a cone, (skimpy) $7.25 (high price for such a poor attitude) never again NEVER NEVER NEVER. NOW THATS ICE CREAM WITH AN ATTITUDE!!!
